Podskirts Anyone?

With the holidays coming to an end I'm sure lot's of people out there got a new shiny iPod/iPhone to play with. I hope some of you stood still by the fact that that beauty better gets some sort of protection.

If you head over to the Store you'll see we sold out some of our models, but you'll also see we gained a new model too: Sheep 3.0 - Pink.

Store Description:
Sheep 3.0 is the newest Podskirt creation. Its thick woolen outer layer protects your precious iPod/iPhone from the harsh winter breeze. And just as with real sheep, this one feels very soft. One might add a 'mèèèèh' ringtone if you'll be using it with an iPhone.
get it here:

I added a softer touch by making the inner lining pink. I'll be adding an orange variation pretty soon. Check the store if it isn't already there.

Gallery Update

As promised I updated the gallery (memberts section only) a bit. You now have a nice 'lightbox' effect which gives the whole experience just that bit of extra fun.

The gallery overview itself still needs some work, so if there are Drupal gizwizzes out there who can help me out on that one... You're more than welcome. I'd like to give it the same look as the Etsy store front here on the site.

Site update to Drupal 5.5

This won't mean a lot to you casual visitor, but for those who are interested... I just updated the site to Drupal 5.5. Everything should work just fine, but please feel free to point out strange things via the contact form.

As for you Podskirt members. I'm aware that the gallery hase some strange visual quirks, and I'm looking into ajaxing the gallery soon.

Members page on line.

I'm happy to announce that as of today we have a members page. Actually, technically it's a 'customer' area. A portion of the site will only be accessible to people who bought a Podskirt.

They'll be getting sneak peeks, A 'Podskirts in Action' image gallery where they can post pictures of their Podskirt in the wild. Contests, coupon codes, commenting, you name it.

A tidbit of the end result will be made available to you, dear visitor, in the form of that gallery, so you'll get a piece of the action. (kind of see, but don't touch).

Etsy continues to amaze me.

Ok, so I know what all the web 2.0 stuff is all about. I get the advantages. I see where it's going and what people are doing with it. But somehow, Etsy.com just keeps amazing me with how sofisticated, yet truly usable their interfaces and applications are.

I know the 'community' aspects on a lot of sites is getting ridiculous. I've never really taken time to start adding friends and such on all those sites. But this site makes it so easy to get a feel of who is doing what on Etsy. A great way to find other things you like. Just hop on over and give it a spin. Especially the 'Colors' and the 'Connections' feature are great. Tip on the 'Colors': try 'throwing' the found items to the side... It's fun!

Store is online

The official Podskirts Store is open! Wiiiii!

I'll try to limit the overenthousiasm a bit and I'll mention that we went with Etsy (Etsy.com) to create the online store. After some first trial and error sessions with the Drupal ecommerce modules we finally gave up and switched to the handy and nice looking service at Etsy.

If you're a DIY'er yourself, be sure to check it out. Etsy allows DIY'ers to quickly build an online presence and it provides them with a sublime and userfriendly platform where they can display and/or sell their latest creations. The site has some really cool and visually stunning web 2.0 interfaces where you can find products based on color, location, history. Certainly worth a visit: Etsy.com

Normandy Greens

I once visited Normandy (France) and was enthralled by the beautiful green meadows there. Having those meadows in mind we created this nice comfy Podskirt: Normandy Greens

Hot Summer

First taste of the kind of Podskirt designs you can expect. Hope you like this one. It's called 'Hot Summer'

Logo Design

I've been bugging my wife (Sophie) for months on a row now. She's a graphic designer, and I asked her to create a logo for podskirts. In fact, even the name 'podskirts' was her idea.

Anyway, there I was nagging over and over again about this logo. The site creation was going well, the templates for the fabrication steps for the podskirts were going well... I was just lacking a proper logo.

Stubborn as I am I ventured out into the wonderful world of Adobe Illustrator and I whipped up a logo of my own.
